Review Guidelines for Hosts

Guest reviews are essential for helping future guests choose the right property. Understanding how reviews work on Holidu and across your connected channels will help you manage your reputation effectively.

How Reviews Work on Holidu

The Rating System

Guests rate their stay on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). Your overall property rating is the average of all scores received. Guests can provide ratings in key categories including:

  • Location
  • Cleanliness
  • Description accuracy
  • Value for money

Guests may also leave written feedback with additional details about their experience.

Who Can Leave Reviews?

Reviews can be submitted by:

  • Guests who booked directly through Holidu after their stay is completed
  • Guests who booked via connected channels like Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com

Important: Guests cannot leave reviews for manual bookings (bookings entered manually by you or your property manager).

Where to View Your Reviews

All reviews are visible in your Holidu Host account. To access them:

  1. Log in to your Holidu Host account
  2. Select Properties
  3. Open Configuration → Reviews

Reviews can take up to 14 days to appear. On Holidu, you'll see the overall score and full review text for bookings made directly through our platform. On partner channels, only reviews from bookings made through that specific channel are displayed.

Review Compliance Standards

We display all legitimate reviews—positive or negative—as long as they meet our standards. This ensures a trustworthy experience for all users.

What Reviews Must Be

  • Truthful and travel-related
  • Helpful to other guests
  • Written by the actual guest who stayed at your property

What's Not Allowed

Reviews cannot contain:

  • References to illegal activity
  • Politically or religiously sensitive content
  • Promotional material or external links
  • Personal details (names, contacts, payment information)
  • Profanity, hate speech, threats, or sexual content
  • Spam, fake reviews, or impersonation

Responding to Reviews

Depending on the booking channel, you may respond publicly to guest reviews on platforms like Booking.com, Airbnb, and Holidu. Use this opportunity to:

  • Provide context for future guests
  • Thank guests for positive feedback
  • Address concerns professionally and constructively

Important Notes

  • Guest reviews reflect individual guest opinions, not Holidu
  • Holidu acts as a distributor, not a publisher of review content
  • You and your partners may not post reviews on behalf of guests or offer incentives for reviews
  • Some reviews may be automatically translated using DeepL. Translation accuracy is not guaranteed

Quick Reference: Reviews Across Channels

Understanding how reviews differ across platforms helps you manage your reputation effectively:

  • Reviews shown on Holidu may include scores from connected channels as aggregated ratings
  • Full review text is visible only for Holidu direct bookings
  • Each channel displays reviews according to its own sorting rules—typically by booking date, with written reviews prioritized
  • Negative reviews appear only if your property has at least two total reviews
