How to Add a Manual Calendar Block

Adding a manual calendar block allows you to block specific dates when your property is unavailable for bookings. Follow these steps to add a block to your calendar:

  1. Log into your Holidu Host account – Enter your credentials and access your account dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Calendar – Click on the "Calendar" section located at the top of your dashboard.
  3. Click the Block button – In the Availability area on the right side of your screen, click the Block button.
  4. Choose your block type – Select between:
    • Manual Booking – Use this option for personal stays or when you need to track specific booking details
    • Date Block – Use this option to simply block dates without additional information
  5. Select your dates – Click to select your start date, then click your end date to specify the date range you want to block.
  6. Confirm dates – Click the Confirm dates button on the right side of your screen.
  7. Enter details – Fill in any required information in the pop-up form that appears on your screen.
  8. Save your block – Click Save to apply the changes to your calendar.

How to Delete a Manual Calendar Block

If you need to remove a calendar block and make those dates available for booking again, follow these steps:

  1. Access your Holidu Host account – Log in and navigate to the Calendar section.
  2. Select the blocked dates – Find the specific blocked dates you want to remove and click on them to select them.
  3. Remove the block – From the menu that appears, select Remove Block.
  4. Confirm your action – Confirm your action if prompted by the system.
  5. Save changes – Ensure you confirm and save so your calendar is updated with the changes.

Important Considerations for Calendar Management

Keep these key points in mind when managing your calendar blocks:

  • Prevent double bookings – Keeping your calendar updated prevents accidental double bookings and helps maximize your occupancy rates.
  • Manual date management – There is currently no way to set an automated opening or closing for bookings based on lead time (for example, after 9, 12, or 18 months). To control availability beyond a certain timeframe, you will need to manually block or unblock the relevant dates.
  • Price control strategy – If you want more control over when you accept bookings, consider opting out of the copy price campaign and setting prices for only the periods you wish to accept reservations.
  • Regular calendar reviews – Periodically review and adjust your calendar blocks to capture every possible booking opportunity and stay competitive.
  • Cleaning time between guests – If you require at least one day to clean your property before a new guest checks in, block that date manually as soon as possible. Currently, it is not possible to automate this process.
