How to Add a Manual Calendar Block
Adding a manual calendar block allows you to block specific dates when your property is unavailable for bookings. Follow these simple steps:
- Log into your Holidu Host account and access your dashboard
- Navigate to the Calendar section at the top of your dashboard
- Click the Block button located on the right side in the Availability area
- Choose your block type:
- Manual Booking for personal stays or specific reasons
- Date Block to simply block dates without additional details
- Select your dates by clicking the start date, then clicking the end date you want to block
- Click Confirm dates on the right side of the screen
- Fill in any required information in the pop-up form that appears
- Click Save to apply the changes to your calendar
How to Delete a Manual Calendar Block
If you need to remove a previously created calendar block, you can easily do so by following these steps:
- Access your Holidu Host account and go to the Calendar section
- Locate and click on the specific blocked dates you want to remove
- Select Remove Block from the menu that appears
- Confirm your action if prompted by the system
- Save your changes to update your calendar
Important Considerations for Managing Your Calendar
Keep these best practices in mind when managing your manual calendar blocks:
- Keeping your calendar updated prevents double bookings and helps maximize your occupancy rates
- There is currently no way to set an automated opening or closing for bookings based on lead time (such as after 9, 12, or 18 months). To control availability beyond a certain timeframe, you must manually block or unblock the relevant dates
- If you want more control over pricing and availability, consider opting out of the copy price campaign and setting prices for only the periods you wish to accept bookings
- Periodically review and adjust your calendar blocks to capture every possible booking opportunity
- If you require at least one day to clean the property before a new guest checks in, manually block that date as soon as possible. Currently, this cannot be done automatically. This also applies if you do not want to have a check-in on the same day as a check-out
