Organic Welcome Baskets

At Holidu, we're committed to helping you create memorable experiences for your guests. That's why we've partnered with APAEMA, a non-profit association dedicated to protecting and promoting organic agriculture in Mallorca. From 1 April 2024, you can purchase welcome baskets filled with local, organic products for your guests. Below you'll find answers to the most common questions about our organic welcome baskets.

What is APAEMA, and why does Holidu collaborate with them?

APAEMA is the Associació de Productors d'Agricultura Ecològica de Mallorca, a Mallorcan non-profit organization focused on defending and advancing organic agriculture. The association supports the island's farmers through various initiatives, including a collective kitchen where members can produce higher-value products. APAEMA's partners are committed to protecting the territory through sustainable farming practices that respect the land while supplying quality, tasty, healthy, and sustainable local products.

Holidu collaborates with APAEMA because agricultural production and distribution accounts for approximately one-fifth of the carbon footprint generated by tourism. By partnering with this organization, we support sustainable practices and help guests discover the island through its gastronomy, local producers, and the people behind these exceptional products.

A welcome basket is a simple yet meaningful way to start your guests' stay on a positive note. It serves multiple purposes: it raises awareness of how food choices connect to climate impact, introduces guests to the island through its authentic products and producers, and demonstrates your commitment to sustainability. By offering these baskets, you support local Mallorcan farmers while adding a thoughtful, memorable detail that enhances your guests' overall experience.

What products do the baskets contain?

All products in our welcome baskets are sourced from farmers associated with APAEMA, ensuring quality, authenticity, and support for local organic agriculture.

Small Basket

The small basket includes:

• A pack of 3 jars of houmous (3 x 100 g)
• A bar of carob chocolate with almonds (80 g)
• A jar of dehydrated apricots (200 g)

Large Basket

The large basket includes:

• A pack of 2 jars of houmous (2 x 100 g)
• A bar of carob chocolate with almonds (80 g)
• A jar of salsa or ratatouille (380 g)
• A vegetable soup (500 ml)
• A bottle of olive oil (500 ml)
