Organic Welcome Baskets

At Holidu, we're committed to helping you create memorable experiences for your guests. That's why we've partnered with APAEMA, a non-profit association dedicated to protecting and promoting organic agriculture in Mallorca.

From 1 April 2024, you can purchase welcome baskets filled with local, organic products for your guests. Below you'll find answers to the most common questions about this initiative.

What is APAEMA, and why does Holidu collaborate with them?

APAEMA is the Associació de Productors d'Agricultura Ecològica de Mallorca, a Mallorcan non-profit dedicated to defending organic agriculture. The organization supports the island's farmers through various initiatives, including a collective kitchen where members can produce higher-value products.

APAEMA's partners work to protect Mallorca's territory through sustainable farming practices that respect the land and supply quality, tasty, healthy, and sustainable local products. Holidu collaborates with APAEMA because agricultural production and distribution accounts for approximately one-fifth of the carbon footprint generated by tourism. By supporting this partnership, we help guests discover the island through its gastronomy while learning about the people and work behind local products.

Why offer organic welcome baskets?

A welcome basket is a thoughtful way to start your guests' stay on a positive note. It serves multiple purposes:

• Supports local Mallorcan farmers and sustainable agriculture

This is a Holidu-host initiative grounded in our local presence in Mallorca. By purchasing these baskets, you contribute to the sustainability of the island while providing your guests with an authentic taste of the region.

What products do the baskets contain?

All products in the baskets are sourced from farmers associated with APAEMA, ensuring quality, organic, and locally-produced goods.

Small Basket

The small basket includes:

• 3 jars of houmous (3 × 100 g)
• 1 bar of carob chocolate with almonds (80 g)
• 1 jar of dehydrated apricots (200 g)

Big Basket

The big basket includes:

• 2 jars of houmous (2 × 100 g)
• 1 bar of carob chocolate with almonds (80 g)
• 1 jar of salsa or ratatouille (380 g)
• 1 vegetable soup (500 ml)
• 1 bottle of olive oil (500 ml)

Both basket options feature premium organic products that showcase the flavors and culinary traditions of Mallorca, providing your guests with an authentic welcome experience while supporting sustainable local agriculture.
