Discounts are one of the most effective ways to attract more guests, increase your visibility on booking channels, and fill gaps in your calendar. This guide will walk you through setting up discounts in your Holidu account.

Quick Setup Guide

Getting started with discounts takes just a few steps:

  1. Log in to your Holidu Host account
  2. Navigate to Configuration → Discounts
  3. Select the discount type you want to activate
  4. Click Configure, set your parameters, and click Activate

Types of Discounts Available

Attract More Guests with Discounts

New Listing Discount

Automatically applied to your first 3 confirmed bookings with a default 20% discount. This discount cannot be combined with other offers and takes priority over all other discounts.

  • Eligible: Properties with fewer than 3 confirmed bookings
  • Not eligible: Properties with 3 or more confirmed bookings

Mobile User Discount

Attract guests booking from mobile devices on Booking.com and Holidu. Simply choose your discount percentage and activate.

Loyalty Discount

Reward frequent travelers on Booking.com and Holidu. Configure and activate to offer returning guests a special rate.

Early-Bird Discount

Perfect for guests who book well in advance. Set your discount percentage and the number of days before arrival when it applies.

Last-Minute Discount

Fill calendar gaps by offering discounts for upcoming stays. Choose your percentage and specify how many days before arrival the discount applies.

Weekly Discount

Applies automatically to bookings of 7 nights or more. Set your discount percentage and activate.

Note: Early-Bird and Last-Minute Discounts are dynamic. This means they automatically adjust depending on the booking date. For example, if you set a Last-Minute Discount for the next 7 days, it will always apply to bookings made "today" for stays within those 7 days.

Smart Ways to Fill Your Calendar

Beyond traditional discounts, consider these flexible options:

Advanced Discount Features

Peak Night Discount Exclusion

Protect your highest-demand nights from discounting. This feature automatically identifies peak nights and excludes them from discounts, allowing you to maintain revenue during high-demand periods while still attracting bookings during slower times.

Choose between two tiers:

  • Tier 1 – Peak Demand: Excludes your absolute highest-demand nights
  • Tier 2 – Peak + High Demand: Excludes highest-demand nights plus additional high-demand periods

Supported discounts: Weekly, Early Bird, and Mobile discounts.

Non-Refundable Cancellation Policy Discount

Offer guests a lower rate in exchange for a non-refundable cancellation policy:

  1. Go to Configuration → Cancellation Policies
  2. Find the Non-Refundable option under your standard policies
  3. Choose your discount percentage (10%, 15%, or 20%) and activate

This discount can combine with any other active discount, except the New Listing Discount.

How Discount Stacking Works

Cumulative Discounts: Multiple discounts multiply together rather than add. For example, a €100 night with a 30% Early Bird discount and a 40% Length-of-Stay discount calculates as: €100 × (1 − 0.4) × (1 − 0.3) = €42. This multiplicative approach protects you from selling below your minimum rate.

Exception: The New Listing Discount does not stack with any other discount. When it applies, no other discount will activate for that booking.

Booking Website Discount: The Booking Website discount (5%, 10%, or 15%) stacks with all other discounts except the New Listing Discount.

Key Takeaways

  • Discounts increase visibility and help fill your calendar
  • Configure multiple discount types to maximize bookings
  • Use Peak Night Exclusion to protect high-demand periods
  • Discount stacking is intentional and protects your profitability
  • The New Listing Discount takes priority over all other offers

By strategically using these discount options, you can boost your property's competitiveness in your local market and attract a wider range of travelers throughout the year.
