To set extra fees on Holidu, log in to your account, open your property, and go to Configuration → Additional fees & Protection. There you can add cleaning fees, security deposits, per-guest fees, taxes, and charges for amenities. Guests must see all fees before their booking is confirmed, so set them accurately from the start.

Which additional fees can I set?

The "Additional fees & Protection" section includes the following fee types:

• Cleaning fee: A fixed amount for end-of-stay cleaning. Guests pay it when they book through the channel used for the booking. Hosts never collect it on-site.
• Security deposit: A fixed amount to cover potential damage. We recommend it. It must be charged before or at check-in and is refunded unless damage occurs. For Airbnb bookings, this is handled under Airbnb's AirCover protection.
• Additional guest fee per night: A charge for each guest above a set number, up to your property's maximum capacity. This lets you offer lower prices for smaller groups while keeping the whole property available. Per-guest fees apply to all seasons and cannot be set by season.
• Taxes: Mandatory governmental or regional taxes, such as eco tax, tourism tax, camping tax, or other local taxes. The amount valid on the day of check-in applies, even if it changed after the booking was made.

How do I set the additional guest fee?

A simple guideline is to divide your nightly base price by the minimum occupancy. For example, if your property sleeps 14 guests and costs €200 per night for 8 guests, €25 per extra person per night is a sensible maximum. You can choose a lower amount. Charging more than this maximum often makes your listing less competitive.

How do I add these fees?

1. Log in to your Holidu account and select the property you want to edit.
2. Go to Configuration → Additional fees & Protection, then click Edit.
3. Enter the fees you want to apply.
4. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Can I charge for amenities such as bed linen or pets?

Yes. The same section includes Amenities with extra fees, where you can set charges for bikes or e-bikes, electricity, pets, bed linen, towels, beach or pool towels, breakfast, cribs, and high chairs. Follow the same steps above and scroll down to Amenities with extra fees before clicking Edit.

Some channels charge these fees automatically. Booking.com applies extra charges for bed linen, towels, and electricity. Airbnb charges for bed linen and, if you configure it, the pet fee. Airbnb also enforces your maximum number of pets. If you have set these fees, guests will be charged on those channels automatically.

How do I communicate fees that Holidu cannot configure?

Some charges, such as late check-in, late check-out, or special services, cannot be set in your Holidu account. Instead, describe them in your property description so guests know about them before booking. Learn how to generate your property description.

What rules apply to extra fees?
