LOCATION
The resort is located in the east of Caorle and is surrounded by three very different, enchanting landscapes: the pristine nature of the lagoon park, the impressive expanse of the hinterland, and the glorious colours of sand and sea.
LOCATION AND SURROUNDINGS
Camping Laguna Village is situated in the lively holiday resort of Caorle. The charming town centre, with its numerous shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, is within walking distance. Be captivated by the beauty of the Caorle lagoon, which stretches over 100 hectares of heath and moorland. The magnificent landscape is particularly beautiful to explore by bicycle. The picturesque centre of Caorle has preserved the charm and magic of ancient burghers. The two symbolic monuments of the town are the bell tower dating back to the year 1000 and the Sanctuary of the Madonna dell'Angelo. Caorle is a versatile town because the sea and the beach merge with its history and traditions. It is located on the Adriatic Sea between Venice and Trieste and was founded 2,000 years ago. The Venetian historian Trino Bottani (1811) confirms that the Roman fleet was stationed here in 238 BC, as evidenced by the numerous Roman finds in Caorle and the sea. The fishing port is located in the old town, which has now become a pedestrian zone. The old houses in vibrant pastel colours, located in the narrow alleys and small squares (Calli and Campielli), are reminiscent of the town's Venetian tradition and have a particularly enchanting atmosphere. The Church of the Madonna dell'Angelo, located at the eastern tip of the promenade, is the sea symbol for the inhabitants of Caorle, who have made their living from fishing for centuries. I Casoni: An excursion into the lagoon allows for a few unforgettable hours in contact with an intact and protected natural oasis, where time passes slowly and silently, and where the rhythm of life for fishermen has remained the same as many years ago. Wild ducks, grey herons, coots, cranes, etc., live amidst the typical Mediterranean scrub. Staying in a characteristic reed hut can help awaken a genuine love for the sea and for the life of the ancient founders of Caorle. Venice: Venice is built on an archipelago of approximately one hundred islands of various shapes and sizes, separated by several canals called "rio". The largest canal, lined with the most beautiful palaces, is called the Grand Canal. You can clearly see it on the city map; it looks like a large, inverted S. The city is divided into "sestieri" (districts), named as such because there are exactly 6 city quarters: San Marco, Castello, Cannareggio, Santa Croce, San Polo, and Dorsoduro. Its islands: Murano is arguably the most famous island in the Venetian lagoon. It is the island of glassmaking, an art traditionally passed down from father to son. Therefore, do not miss a visit to the famous glass furnaces, the Basilica of San Donato, and of course, the precious Glass Museum: you can get there in just 15 minutes. Burano: Burano, just thirty minutes from Murano, is still an active fishing centre today. Like Torcello, it is part of the classic tour of the lagoon islands. Here, visitors will find a place that embodies the most characteristic atmosphere of the Venetian lagoon, both in terms of its inhabitants and its buildings. It is famous for its lacemaking and offers the opportunity to discover the wonders of "the noblest and most Italian of all laces." Burano is also a favourite island of painters – thanks to its small houses painted in vibrant colours that almost glow between the blue of the sky and the green of the lagoon. Torcello: Located among the deserted sandbanks of the lagoon, about a ten-minute boat ride from Burano, Torcello was once the main settlement of the Venetian lagoon. Until the 16th century, it was one of the most important and prosperous centres of the lagoon. Only two true gems remain today as reminders of that long-gone era: the ancient Cathedral and the Church of Santa Fosca. Also worth seeing are the Museo dell'Estuario with extraordinary archaeological finds, the Devil's Bridge, the legendary Attila's Throne, and the austere medieval watchtower, from which one can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the lagoon.
